The 2014 Beloit College Women’s Cross Country team led NCAA Division III in grade-point-average while the Men’s team ranked in the top 50% as both earned recognition from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as a 2014 All-Academic team. In addition, two female runners earned individual accolades.
The organization announced the honors this week.
A team must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.10 or greater to be recognized. Beloit’s Women had a 3.84 GPA, the highest in NCAA Division III among 211 teams honored, while the Men had a 3.32 among 152 teams nationally.
Buccaneer seniors Karen Jones and Sara DeLong were honored individually among 325 NCAA Division III women.
Beloit was one of eight Midwest Conference Women’s teams and one of five MWC Men’s teams recognized.
