The Beloit College baseball team bounced back from an early 8-2 loss to Cornell College with a 13-3, seven-inning win over Monmouth College.
The Buccaneers’ offense struggled to get going in game one falling to the Rams 8-2. Danny Belling fell to 2-3 on the season with the loss in five innings of work.
The Bucs bounced back from the loss with an offensive barrage in the nightcap against Monmouth.
Beloit scored in six of the seven innings including a four-run second, two-run third, three-run sixth and two-run seventh. Ethan Conley led the Bucs offensively with a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate with two walks, two runs scored and two runs batted in. Jalen Davis and Nick Schmidt each tallied three hits while Brice Call added two.
David Harrison registered the win on the mound allowing just two earned runs in five innings of work while striking out three.
The Bucs will take on Illinois College at Galesburg High School tomorrow at 10 a.m. followed by a matchup with Grinnell at 2:30 p.m. on the same high school diamond.
