Javelin

The javelin event is named in honor of Dex Miller, a 1963 Beloit Graduate who was Midwest Conference javelin champion in 1962. The Best throw of his career was 185 feet in the 1963 Beloit Relays. He was also a long jumper with a best of 22-2 and a hurdler with a best of 15-flat in the 120 highs and 24.5 in the 220 lows. He was an all-around athlete, also participating in softball, volleyball, golf, swimming, basketball and football.
