Search the Archives

The Beloit College Archives and Special Collections is starting to make collection guides available via ArchivesSpace, an open source archival collection management system. An archival collection guide, (or "finding aid"), is guide to a group of archival records, personal papers, or manuscripts. It may be a brief summary, or a detailed description and folder-level inventory. The collection guide describes the origin, size, dates, contents, topics, and organization of the records.

For an overview of how to navigate ArchivesSpace and how to interpret your search results, please visit our ArchivesSpace LibGuide. You can also contact our Digital Archivist for further assistance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The holdings in ArchivesSpace are intended to be a "starting point" for research and are not intended to represent the entire scope of materials in our holdings. Currently, about 60% of our processed collections have a record in ArchivesSpace. This will grow over time as we are able to add more collection guides.
