As you return to join classmates who left these halls just fifty years ago, your alma mater is pleased to honor you in recognition of your many years in the field of education. Your experience in secondary schools following your Beloit education, and your study for the master’s and doctor’s degrees a the University of Minnesota gave you wide knowledge of the field in which you have spent you entire active career  -- education.  The University of Pittsburgh has named you emeritus professor following your thirty-nine years of service to that institution.  During that period you became nationally known, through some sixty books and articles, as an authority in administrative matters in education.  Please accept this Distinguished Service Citation as our token of esteem and admiration.
