Multiple Perspectives

We will help you stand out

Beloit College’s School of Environment & Sustainability combines an interdisciplinary curriculum with personalized career services to prepare you for a wide range of careers dedicated to transforming environmental science and policy into solutions that promote sustainability practices in the public, private, or nonprofit sector.

An interdisciplinary and humanistic curriculum

You will take core courses in the natural and social sciences to gain an understanding of the interrelationships within ecological and social systems, and to provide you with skills to develop innovative, practical, and equitable solutions to the challenges posed by climate change. You’ll also take courses in the arts and humanities to acquire the foundational problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills that Beloit College’s liberal arts education offers.

Your learning won’t just take place in the classroom. You’ll also learn through experiences in local and global organizations. Internships, clubs, and community involvement are a crucial part of your educational journey at Beloit.

You will develop scientific and humanistic skills to address the environmental problems of our time and help build a more sustainable future. You will explore and think critically about the political, cultural, and economic factors that affect environmental policy around the world and learn to integrate social equity in addressing those issues, preparing you to fill the growing demand for green jobs.

Our four-year developmental model of career preparation is designed specifically to prepare you for a career in the growing fields of environment and sustainability. When you declare a major or minor aligned with the School of Environment & Sustainability, you’ll be assigned a career coach to help you achieve your goals.

In the School of Environment & Sustainability, you’ll connect with a network of thousands of successful alumni excited to mentor you, helping you to explore career options and to find jobs and internships.
