Econ Day

The annual opportunity for students to speak and network with alumni.

For over 30 years, the Department of Economics has departed from the corner of Chapin and College Street at 7:00 a.m. on a cold February morning for Econ Day. Forty junior and senior majors along with their professors journey to Chicago to meet with alumni and to consider life after Beloit.

For the year 2021, we are turning Econ Day into a virtual Econ Week featuring multiple career development and networking events. For the first time, we will have an International Econ Alum Event to help connect current students to international econ alumni (who currently reside outside the US) and international alumni with one another.

Alumni and the “Face-to-Face” Network

Long before Facebook, the centerpiece of Econ Day has been Beloit Face-to-Face Network - That’s you! This invaluable opportunity for our current students to have one-on-one discussions with our alumni provides them with a unique source of advice, information and gentle direction. We will ask each alumni member of the Network for a brief biography. This information enables our students to seek out the right alum(s) for advice.

Our annual alumni reception, immediately following The Network, is your opportunity to reconnect with professors, classmates and meet other department alumni. We look forward to seeing you!
