Career & Work Experience
Beloiters graduate ahead of the game.
Your classroom is everywhere
At Beloit, an internship isn’t just a line on a resume. Community activism can be done for course credit. And research projects shape how you understand the world around you.
We intentionally blur the lines between curricular and co-curricular, campus and community, career and classroom. Our graduates know how to learn and grow throughout their lives.
Bring your interests — we’ll handle the details
Often, internships or research experiences open the door to a future career. But sometimes those opportunities are out of reach for students. Not at Beloit.
How do we make it work? We offer grants for summer research, internships, or creative projects. We set up job shadowing with alumni. We make sure international students can intern or work legally in the U.S. We keep a fleet of cars for students to borrow for work experiences downtown. And we offer course credit for students to start their own businesses.
After Beloit
Because our students have had dozens of opportunities to do hands-on work as undergrads — and to think deeply about what they want to get out of a job — Beloiters have a leg up when they reach the real world.
The Career and Community Engagement Center helps students assess the values that are important to them in a workplace, polish their interview and presentation skills, and put together compelling applications for jobs or graduate programs.
We also offer advising and support for Beloiters considering a year of public service or seeking fellowships for research or professional development after graduation.
