Academic Specialties and Other Interests
I grew up in the Chicago suburbs and have been living in and working at Beloit College for the past 14 years. I am a Psychology professor, and I typically teach intro psych, one of our statistics and research methods courses, and biological psychology. I love how our small classes allow me to get to know students well and how Beloit students tend to be curious, collaborative and generally really interesting people. My research interests are in the field of animal behavior and cognition, and I’ve been studying chimpanzees, gorillas and capuchin monkeys for the past 20 years. Outside of work, I’m an avid sports fan and cheer for the Cubs, Blackhawks and Packers, as well as all of our Beloit College teams. I also love to travel, especially to international destinations, and can’t wait to get back on a plane again to explore new places.
