Academic Specialties and Other Interests
I’m a Philosophy professor here at Beloit, with a focus on ethics–how we ought to live, what we ought to do, what world we should work towards creating. Because of this, beyond my departmental home, I also teach and advise in several of our interdisciplinary programs: Environmental Studies, Health & Society, and Law & Justice.
I see pretty much everything I do at Beloit as about two things: conversations and connections. I love the conversations I get to have at Beloit–in the classroom, in one-on-one conversations with students, and with my faculty and staff colleagues. And I love the connections I get to make, and also help students to make, along the way. It’s a privilege to have a job where I can help Beloit students find and pursue the futures they want for themselves.
