A photographic narrative from Cuzco
This summer, professors Kylie Quave and Chuck Lewis took their summer blocks courses, in writing and anthropology, to Cuzco, Peru. The two classes collaborated on the narrative below.
This summer, professors Kylie Quave and Chuck Lewis took their summer blocks courses, in writing and anthropology, to Cuzco, Peru.
Below is an example of the collaboration between the two classes. The assignment was for anthropology students to create a narrative in four photographs and for writing students to caption the photos without knowing the photographer’s intent.
The following photos were taken by Ava Rockafield’20 in Ollantaytambo, Cuzco, Peru and the caption was written by Luke Thomson’19.
The Narrative
A day started with strange textures that slowly grew and wove into an understanding of the place around us. Coming to an end with only the dust and smell of our boots to show for it.
