High energy, musical virtuosity, and outstanding choreography are just a few of the elements that the musical group Barrage employs in its performances. This renowned ensemble will bring its “high-octane fiddle-fest” for a one-time-only concert at Beloit College on Thursday, April 17, at 8 p.m., in Eaton Chapel. Tickets to the Barrage: High Strung show are $15 ($10 for senior citizens and $5 for students) and may be reserved by calling the Beloit College box office at 608-363-2755 after 12:30 p.m.

Based in Calgary, Canada, Barrage features 12 talented musicians performing a scintillating fusion of world music, song and dance. Its repertoire combines elements of contemporary world music with layered vocal arrangements, wild percussion, and pulsating modern beats. The music is coupled with innovative choreography that provides a rare visual treat.

Barrage has won fans worldwide through its live performances in Asia, Europe and North America. The group has also appeared on television productions and in concert before presidents, prime ministers and princes. The Denver Post summed up its appeal to audiences of all ages―“Barrage is too WOW for words!”
