Center for Language Studies
The Center for Language Studies (CLS) offers a rare summer opportunity for intensive beginning, intermediate, or advanced study of critical languages under the close supervision of an expert language team. Students receive individual attention in a demanding program that requires a high degree of motivation. The classes are small and personal, with two instructors for every 10 students. The Center offers four- and eight-week intensive, immersion-style programs in Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian. At the successful conclusion of each eight-week summer language program, students will have completed at least one year of language study and are prepared to enter the next year of study at most colleges and universities. The program is designed for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students; advanced high school students (17 minimum age limit); educators; professionals; and adults interested in language study for academic purposes, career and personal enrichment.
