Brian Bliese is in his eight season as the Buccaneers Head Track & Field coach and the Cross Country Coordinator. In 2007, he guided two Buccaneer individuals and one relay team to outdoor conference championships while earning MWC Women’s Coach of the Year honors, the third time he has received Coach of the Year recognition in his seven seasons.

Bliese came to Beloit College from Midwest Conference rival Carroll College, where he coached a combination of track, cross country and football teams during his 16-year tenure there. He served as head track coach for both the men and women, was the cross country coach in 1999 and the cross country coordinator before that, and was the offensive coordinator of the Pioneer football team through the 1998 season. Before Carroll, he coached track and football at Carthage College and coached football, women’s volleyball, basketball and softball at his alma mater, Milton College. He also was the women’s athletic director at Milton.

Bliese graduated from Milton College in 1976 after a successful career as a quarterback. During his senior season, Bliese led Milton to an undefeated and untied season, the only collegiate school in the nation to accomplish that feat in 1975.

Over the past 20 years, Bliese has coached over 30 All-Americans, four National Champions and eight team Conference Championships.

Last Fall, Bliese completed his eighth season as an assistant coach for the Buccaneer Football squad, working with the wide receivers, while also serving as the Cross Country Coordinator.
