Pictures of Beloit
Nigel
Junior, education and youth studies major, minor in business management, from Massachusetts:

How I found Beloit
I discovered Beloit through the book, Colleges That Change Lives.  I was ready to get away from the east coast.

Interesting coincidence
My uncle went to Beloit.

The challenges
I was undecided about a major coming here and was overwhelmed by the choices.   I picked courses that sounded interesting and discovered professors that I wanted to work with.

The rewards
Working one-on-one with a professor on a charter school project.  I could see the intellect of my professor, and discovered my own as well.

Unexpected discovery
Beloit has helped me make sense of my life in the world.  I’ve grown comfortable with uncertainty.  It’s okay that there are things I don’t know.  Beloit encourages student involvement, both forcing and allowing opportunities.  I’ve taken on leadership roles that matter.

Favorite course
Entrepreneurship with Jerry Gustafson.

Favorite pastime
The sauna

Favorite extracurricular activity
Black Students United

What prospective students won’t learn in the catalog
Beloit gives students the opportunity to be involved in the transformation of the College.

Advice to prospective students
Come to visit; ask a lot of questions.

Places to go in Beloit, the town
Clippers and Curls is a very cool place to get a haircut.
