The Wright Museum of Art is a teaching resource for Beloit College students.  As such, students are encouraged to engage the museum in a number of ways:

• Museum work-study opportunities for career-development (museum education, collections management, registration, and exhibition design & development).
• Participate in the annual Juried Student Art Exhibition (sponsored by the department of art/art history) and/or the Beloit & Vicinity Exhibition.
• Special projects in collections research and exhibition development.  Some past examples of these include:
  • Inventory and research on the Wright's extensive Chinese textile collection.
  • Research and proper re-housing of the Wright's early 20th century Japanese Imperial doll collection.
  • Student-curated exhibitions on Chinese calligraphy, Russian political propaganda, Greco-Roman oil lamps, and Shakspearean clothing.
  • Faculty outreach program to assist Beloit College faculty with museum-classroom integration

Students interested in using the Wright Museum to support their academic efforts--no matter their major field of study--are encouraged to meet with Joy Beckman (x2097) and James Pearson (x2095) to discuss project possibilities.
