| The Art of Politics and the Politics of Art
Main Gallery January 25 - March 30 The power of visual images in modern society is undeniable. Drawing from the permanent collections of the Wright Museum of Art of political posters and prints, Beloit College's students will curate an exhibition that explores the tension between art and politics. Questions raised by this exhibit include: How does government propaganda harness this power to create social norms? Conversely, how do artists use this same visual power to critique the values of dominant society? |
