Jay Paul Bell: Wisconsin Landscapes
Jay Paul Bell, a landscape painter from Wisconsin will hold a solo exhibition of his work at the Wright Museum of Art from June 14 to July 24. The exhibition coincides with the 57th Annual Beloit and Vicinity Art Competition hosted by the Wright Museum. Both exhibitions open on June 14 at 4:30 PM.
Bell received his MFA from the University of Wisonsin-Madison in 1975. From 1975 to 2003 he taught in the School of Art at Northern Illinois University. To date in his painting career Bell has received numerous awards for his work, from juried art exhibitions to purchase awards in Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin, and beyond. Bell’s work can be found in the collections of the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art, the Illinois State Museum, Carl Sandburg College, and many other corporate and academic offices.
In 2013 Bell entered and won the “juror’s award” at the 56th Annual Beloit and Vicinity Art Competition. The prize for the “juror’s award” is a solo exhibition at the Wright Museum during the next year’s Beloit and Vicinity Competition. Bell will be displaying new work, giclee prints, and other painted landscapes.
