Paint, Print & Peeping: Picturing Realities and Realisms
With support from the Mellon Foundation, through the Labs Across Curriculum's initiative, Beloit College students present an exhibition component to ENG 237
Paint, Print and Peeping: Picturing Realities and Realisms
This student exhibition explores links between visual and literary representation. In this class-based project, ENG 257 students extend their study of American realism, naturalist fiction, and Ashcan art to engage with a more diverse collection of museum holdings, examining topics such as objectivity and perspective, the dynamics of spectacle, and the documentation of social conditions.
