Application Requirements

International First-Year Applicants

1. A Completed Common Application.

2. Official Transcripts of Secondary School Course Work*

Transcripts must list all courses taken and the grades received (if applicable), or results of post-secondary cumulative examinations (G.C.E., I.B., S.P.M., M.C.E., etc.)

Transcripts and examinations must be in English and submitted through Common Application or directly to Beloit College by the school, examination board, or certified translator.

3. Secondary School Report Form*

A completed Secondary School Report must be submitted by the appropriate school official.

4. Teacher Letter of Recommendation*

One teacher recommendation is required, preferably by someone who has taught you within the last year.

5. Standardized Examinations

Native English speakers should submit official score results from either the SAT I or ACT exam.   

Non-native English speakers must show prove of English proficiency by submitting official score results from either the TOEFL or IELTS exams.  Applicants must meet the following minimum score requirements to be considered for admission: TOEFL iBT (internet-based): 80, TOEFL pBT (paper-based): 550, or IELTS: 6.5.

Proof of English proficiency can be waived on a case-by-case basis for students who have spent a significant amount of time in an English-medium secondary curriculum.  Student must submit either the SAT I or ACT in place of the TOEFL or IELTS exam.  

6. The Beloit College Declaration of Finances and International Student Application for Financial Aid

Students applying for financial aid must complete the Beloit College Declaration of Finances and International Student Application for Financial Aid. 

Beloit will also accept the CSS Profile (CSS code: 1059) or College Board ISFAA as alternatives to the Beloit declaration of finance forms.

Students not applying for financial aid must complete "Section A" only of the Beloit College Declaration of Finances and International Student Application for Financial Aid.

Optional Components

Students may submit samples of creative work or composition (poetry, photography, art, music recordings, research, etc). Digital files may be uploaded through Beloit's online applicant portal after your Common Application has been processed.  If you choose to send physical media, please send only copies, slides or photographs of originals to the Office of Admissions, Attn: Creative Supplement.

*NOTE: It is our expectation that students apply online through the Common Application, however, we will accept any or all of your supporting materials online, by mail, by fax (608.363.2075), or scanned and sent in PDF format to schoolforms@beloit.edu.
