What does the Admissions Committee look for?
We can’t tell you exactly what it takes to get into Beloit. Why? There is no special formula. We expect students to be well prepared academically. Most importantly, we seek students best qualified to benefit from—and contribute to—Beloit’s engaged campus community, both inside and outside the classroom.
To that end, we aim to get a complete picture of each applicant. While we consider quantitative components, e.g. grade point average and standardized test scores, we give much weight to qualitative factors. We are interested in the breadth and depth of students’ academic interests, leadership abilities, and unique talents. We also seek applicants from diverse ethnic, geographic, and economic backgrounds.
