Voices from Japan: Cities in Transition Blog

 

Congratulations to the following students who have been awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship to help support study abroad in fall 2014: Maddie Hallberg - Class of 2016, who will be in Morocco studying elements of Moroccan textile design and how globalization impacts the textile industry; to Milica Mihajlovic - Class of 2016, who will be studying literature and history in Russia; and to Rikako Nishimura - Class of 2016, who will study veganism and the Russian language in Moscow.

 

Beloit College is pleased to announce a new student exchange agreement with Rikkyo University in Tokyo, Japan. The exchange of students will begin in academic year 2015/16. 

 

In May, Beloit College joined the Generation Study Abroad campaign, pledging to increase, diversify, and strengthen study abroad participation.

Stylus Press has released Integrating Study Abroad into the Curriculum: Theory and Practice across the Disciplines. 
The book features examples of teaching from the Beloit College campus as well as Kalamazoo College, and has contributions from Marion Fass (Biology), NanIntegrating Study Abroad into the Curriculumcy Krusko (Anthropology), Pablo Toral (International Relations), Daniel Youd (Chinese) and Elizabeth Brewer (International Education), who co-edited the book with Kiran Cunningham, Kalamazoo College.
