Please join Beloit College for a concert with Beloit native Tony Scodwell, trumpeter, soloist, and headliner of stage and studio and the 2013 The Victor E. Ferrall, Jr. Endowed Artist-in-Residence.
The Victor E. Ferrall, Jr. Endowed Artist-in-Residence was inaugurated in 2001 to honor the college’s ninth president Victor E. Ferrall, Jr. The program brings a performing or visual artist to Beloit to teach, direct workshops and perform or exhibit his or her works.
This event is co-sponsored by Northern Public Radio.
Events will be free and open to the campus and community.
BIO
Tony Scodwell was born and raised in Beloit, Wisconsin, graduating from high school in 1961. His education continued at the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston on a full scholarship provided by the international music magazine Down Beat Leaving school in the fall of 1962 to join the Stan Kenton Orchestra and returning upon the completion of that year, he once again felt the urge to tour and rejoined the Kenton Orchestra the following April. From that point on, Tony Scodwell has been a working, professional musician.
