Join the Wright Museum of Art for this closing panel discussion of the exhibit "Looking Ahead: Portraits from the Mott-Warsh Collection."  This public panel discussion will give guests an opportunity to address questions or raise conversational topics centering on the multiple themes of the show "Looking Ahead."  Pre-determined themes will include the integration of black portraiture into traditional portrait shows, the convergence of established artists (both black and white) within the art history cannon, the future of exhibition with or without racial or cultural themes, the history and future of the use of the black face and head in popular culture and fine art, and topics that the community would like bring to the discussion.  

The panel members for this event are: 

Wanda
 Sloan, H.R. Diversity/Staff Development Specialist at Blackhawk Technical College

Prof.
George Williams Jr., prof. of art and art history at Beloit College and a contemporary artist whose works include black portraiture.
