    • Conrad Bakker to deliver the Victor E. Ferrall Artist in Residence lecture this Wednesday

      This coming Wednesday night, Conrad Bakker, the Victor E. Ferrall, Jr. Artist in Residence, will deliver a public lecture on his exhibit at the Wright Museum of Art, “Untitled Project: Robert Smithson's Library & Book Club” in the Wright Museum of Art. The “Untitled Project: Robert Smithson’s Library & Book Club” will remain open at the Wright Museum until October 10.

    • Beloit College announces $100,000 scholarships for Wisconsin’s top students

      The good news just kept coming today at a conference on the campus of Beloit College. At the end of a string of 13 presentations by city officials, local business leaders, and more, the college shared its own piece of news—announcing a new $100,000 scholarship program for Wisconsin’s top high school seniors.

    • Wright Museum exhibition brings conflict photography to the Midwest

      The Wright Museum of Art's latest exhibition, "Conflict and Consequence: Photographing War and Its Aftermath" contains the work of fourteen photographers who's work runs the range from the instantly recognizable to simply breathtaking. Curated by alumnus Todd Tubutis'92, the Associate Director of the Sheldon Museum of Art in Lincoln, Nebraska, the exhibition highlights the work of photojournalist and alumnus, Luke Somers'08, who was killed in Yemen in 2014. 

    • MacArthur Fellow and world-renowned architect Jeanne Gang to keynote City-College Conference in Beloit, Wisconsin

      On September 18, at the very beginning of Beloit College’s Homecoming weekend, leaders from the city of Beloit and Beloit College, as well as the local business and nonprofit community, will hold the inaugural City-College Conference titled “Beloit: Sharing a Name, Sharing a Future.” The event, hosted by college President Scott Bierman and City Manager Lori Luther, will bring together CEOs and community members, educators and college alumni to discuss their work, their partnerships, and prospects for the future. MacArthur Fellow and world-renowned architect Jeanne Gang will deliver the keynote address.
