Former state legislator Dan Schooff will join Beloit College on July 9 as senior director of corporate relations, a new position.
Schooff represented Beloit in the state legislature from 1999 -2004 and is currently the head of Rock Consulting. He was more recently the secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Administration and, among other roles, served as a senior manager at the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.
“Dan’s extensive experience with the Wisconsin Department of Administration, Wisconsin State Legislature, and most recently as a successful business leadership consultant enables him to bring to the table highly sophisticated senior management and strategic communication skills with an emphasis on building teams and consensus,” said Jeff Puckett, vice president for external affairs. “Dan will be able to hit the ground running in his efforts to develop and nurture strong relationships with business, government and community leaders to help the college reach its corporate philanthropic goals.”
For his part, Schooff says he’s excited to get started.
“Since leaving state government in 2010 I’ve been looking for the next great boss or organization,” says Schooff, who will be working closely with College President Scott Bierman and others on campus. “I feel like I found both right here in Beloit.”
