Reserve Black-on-White Wingate Style CA. 1030-1200

The Wingate Style is named for two related design types that are found consistently on Wingate Black-on-Red pottery. These both consist of matched solid and hatched elements, one rectilinear in nature, the other a jagged, triangular pattern. Some of the Wingate Style vessels from Starkweather have been categorized as Reserve Black-on-White, Wingate Style. In those cases, the vessel form was more characteristically Reserve than Tularosa, and it appears that the Wingate Style overlapped both types, and exerted similar influence.
