Escavada Black-on-White - CA. 1000-1130

Escavada Black-on-White is one of a group of closely-related Cibola White Wares, including Puerco and Reserve Black-on- Whites. The differences lie in the styles of painted decoration. Escavada usually carries bold motifs executed in broad lines and these decorations are generally based on triangles. Escavada Black-on-White is found in the northwestern and west-central parts of New Mexico.
