Logan Museum of Anthropology

This type is not unlike Reserve Smudged, with its plain exterior and smudged interior, but here three to five coils have been left corrugated and indented to create a filleted rim. This plainware type replaced Reserve Smudged, and is diagnostic of the Tularosa Phase.

Characteristics

Paste: Pinkish tan to dark brown
Temper: Light sand
Surface: Red-brown to gray-brown
Forms: Mostly bowls
Design: Exteriors smooth with fillet decoration just below the rim. Interiors are often treated by smudging, which may be polished to iridescent.
