Liberal Arts in Practice Center
The Liberal Arts in Practice Center, or the LAPC, has three programs within it, which work with students, faculty, staff and community as part of a comprehensive, intentional, integrated approach to help students tie together all aspects of their liberal arts education. The Liberal Arts in Practice Center is here to provide a clearinghouse of information for you, to be a catalyst to move you towards your career goals and consult with you on how to polish your skills, define your self-image, create important social networks including alumni networks and become involved in the the community. We do this through three of our major programs among several other resources:
- Community-Based Learning focuses on academically rooted community engagement such as class projects, community-based research and enrolled academic credit internships.
- Career Development brings together all areas of career development and planning to help students make the most of their time at Beloit as well as plan for life after Beloit (post-graduation). They also administer registered non-credit internships.
- Campus and Community Outreach Center is a student operated office that connects campus clubs and organizations and individual students with volunteer opportunities in the local area.
