Proxy

The proxy server is for students, staff, and faculty of Beloit College who wish to view campus-restricted pages from off-campus. After you have entered the proxy configurations for your browser,  you will need to enter your username and password to authenticate your identity.

Be sure to make note of your browser settings and return them to "direct internet access" (no proxy) settings when you are finished accessing pages that require the proxy server.  If you do not change your settings back, your internet access will be dramatically slowed down by the proxy server.  One recommendation is to choose one browser as the "direct internet access" browser and one as the "proxy" browser.

Note on web browsers: These instructions cover Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer as they are the most popular browsers. However, most other browsers  have proxy configuration capabilities. Simply find where the proxy setting is kept for your browser and extract from the examples below for your settings.
