These computer labs are open to the general student population and contain Beloit College purchased software for student or instructor use.
Colonel Robert H. Morse Library - Richard Black Information Center
The Library features three floors with computers available for users with a current Beloit College ID. Your Beloit College email account User Name and Password will serve as your network authentication User Name and Password. Please Log off (Start > Log Off) when you are finished working.
Limited guest access to computers is available. Please visit the Circulation or Reference Desk desks for a copy of our Building and Computer Use Policies.
Main Floor
Main floor near library entrance
- Twelve Windows based stations – including two Guest Access stations
- Mainly used for locating articles and books available through the library
- Connected to high speed laser duplex printers
Mediated Technology Space (MeTS)
- 2 Scanning Stations with an attached Epson Perfection 3170 Photo Scanner, Alice, SPX Screen Capture, JMP, SPSS & Mini Tab, PhotoShop Elements, Adobe Designer, and Adobe Distiller.
- 2 iMac Video / Audio workstations with widescreen displays, Epson Photo Scanner, iLife (iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, iWeb, GarageBand), Stuffit, Mathmatica, and JMP.
- A Web-Design Workstation with dual monitors and Laser Printer, Mini Tab & JMP, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Inspiration, Roxio Creator Basic, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Freehand, WS-FTP
- A high speed duplex laser print only station not connected to the network so all information needs to be transferred via disk or thumb drives. Features Microsoft Office and Conversion Plus for Mac users

- Connected to a high speed laser printer
Library Upper Level
- Nine Windows based stations which have Microsoft Office, SPSS, JMP, and MiniTab
- Connected to a high speed laser printer which is the default printer for the second floor stations
Library Lower Level
- Four Macintosh stations which have Microsoft Office and JMP
- Eight Windows based stations which have Microsoft Office, SPSS, JMP and MiniTab.
- All of the stations are connected to a high speed laser printer located in the corner
Library Lower Level, BI Room (Bibliographic Instruction Room)
- May be reserved for library instruction sessions
- Open to general campus users after 4:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday
- Twelve student stations and an instructor station which is connected to a projector
- Microsoft Office, SPSS, JMP, MiniTab, and Macromedia Dreamweaver.
- Connected to a high speed laser printer outside of the classroom
- Chapin Hall Room C08 located in the basement hallway
- Open 24 hours 7 days a week during the academic term
- Five Windows based stations which have Microsoft Office Suite, SPSS, JMP
- Two Macintosh based stations which have Microsoft Office Suite and JMP
- Connected to the default high speed printer which is located in the classroom with the stations
Pearsons Hall features two general computer labs
Pearsons Lab
- The main computer lab is located in the basement across from the Mail Center
- Open 24 hours 7 days a week during the academic term
- Seven Windows based stations which have Microsoft Office Suite, SPSS, JMP
- Two Macintosh stations which have Microsoft Office Suite and JMP
- Connected to the default high speed printer which is located in the lab with the stations
- Coffee house located in the basement of Pearson Hall
- Three Windows based stations which have Microsoft Office Suite, SPSS, JMP
- Connected to the high speed laser printer in the Pearsons Lab
- Open 24 hours 7 days a week through the year
