Ultimately which computer to purchase is a personal preference, but IT uses these hardware standards for equipment purchased on campus.
IT encourages purchasers to avail themselves of additional memory and faster processors as possible and available, but recommends these general specifications to ensure compatibility with commonly used software and peripherals.
IT also highly encourages a three-year extended warranty for any computer purchased for personal use, as well as a backup solution, such as a USB Flash Drive.
