CSA Illumina databases moving to ProQuest in July

June 13, 2012 at 11:24 am

On July 11, there will be a change in the way the the following databases are accessed: PsycARTICLES, PsycBOOKS, PsycINFO, and GeoRef.

The library has provided access to these resources via the CSA Illumina delivery platform. Last year, CSA was bought by ProQuest. We have recently been informed that ProQuest will be discontinuing the CSA Illumina platform in August. This development will necessitate a changeover to the ProQuest platform in order to access these databases.

The library is prepared to make the change on July 11. On that date, all links to the databases on the library website will be changed to direct users to ProQuest. However, you can access the new platform right now using the following links:

PsycARTICLES -- http://search.proquest.com/psycarticles?accountid=9042

PsycBOOKS -- http://search.proquest.com/psycbooks?accountid=9042

PsycINFO -- http://search.proquest.com/psycinfo?accountid=9042

GeoRef -- http://search.proquest.com/georef?accountid=9042

In the coming weeks, we recommend that you prepare for this migration by making sure that any important information that you have saved in the CSA Illumina platform is exported and/or recreated in ProQuest (e.g. saved searches, search alerts, etc.). ProQuest has informed us that existing links to articles on the CSA Illumina platform (for instance, any links you may have put in Moodle) should redirect to the new ProQuest platform without trouble. That said, we’d recommend changing your links anyway just as a precaution.

Most features found on the CSA Illumina platform have equivalents on the ProQuest platform, and we believe you’ll find the switchover to be smooth and uneventful. However, if you should encounter any trouble or if you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the library. We’re happy to assist you with the switchover any way that we can!
