General Steve Xenakis, retired U.S. Army Medical Corps, will give the Weissberg Lecture in International Human Rights on the topic of closing Guantanamo Bay prison.
General Xenakis writes on medical ethics, military medicine, and the treatmentof detainees and is active in the antitorturemovement.

Robin and Linda Williams and Their Fine Group have thrilled folk, bluegrass, and country audiences for more than 20 years, through their many appearances with Garrison Keillor on A Prairie Home Companion and by touring with Mary Chapin Carpenter, Emmylou Harris, and many others.
Merce Cunningham Event

Beloit College will present excerpts from two of Merce Cunningham’s seminal dances, Scramble (1967) and Canfield (1969), restaged by Paige Cunningham and performed by Beloit College student dancers and musicians. Merce Cunningham is often named as America’s greatest living choreographer.
This event is funded by the American Masterpieces: Dance-College Component, which is made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts.

A Mohican Indian from northern Wisconsin, Bill Miller has long been one of the most-admired figures in the Native American music arena. As an award-winning recording artist, performer, songwriter, activist, and painter, he’s been a voice for the voiceless.
His honors include two Grammy Awards for best Native American music album and seven different Native American music awards.
