Renewing the Historic Core

This year, President Scott Bierman is mounting a new initiative to restore the grandeur of our historic campus.  Renewing the Historic Core ensures that the historic core of buildings on our campus, are preserved and maintained to endure for current and future generations of Beloiters.  President Bierman has outlined a multi-phase plan, and much work has already been completed.  Projects include the painting of many of the campus’ historic buildings, landscaping work, exterior cleaning of stonework, improvements of entrances and lighting around the historic core, and more.

What does the Beloit Fund do?

The truth is that tuition, room and board cover less than 75% of the cost of educating a student, so the Beloit Fund helps cover the difference. But the Beloit Fund is much more than that. The Beloit Fund is an expression of confidence by all those who support Beloit. Gifts to the Beloit Fund keep Beloit strong, support our faculty and students, and provide opportunities for student engagement that otherwise wouldn't be possible. When you brake for Beloit, your gift—large or small—goes a long way for Beloiters as soon as it’s made.

Who does my gift help?

Your gift helps the students of Beloit College. In fact, without the generous support of the Beloit Fund, last year tuition would have been $1,811 more per student. Talk about a direct impact!

Can I choose where my gift goes?

Yes, you can designate your gift to one or more of five categories.

  • Where the Need is Greatest: Gifts designated here give the College the greatest amount of flexibility. Your generous gift will go where it's most needed; perhaps an urgent budgetary need or a special learning opportunity.
  • Student Scholarships and Financial Aid: About 90% of students receive some financial aid. The average financial aid grant/scholarship is $16,390. By designating your gift here, you help ensure that the College can continue to admit students based on their academic ability, regardless of their ability to pay.
  • Faculty Research and Development: Gifts designated here help provide tools such as new books, journal subscriptions, and access to electronic databases, ensuring that Beloit's top-notch faculty has the best information available to research and teach at the highest level.
  • Internships: The value of a Beloit education goes beyond classroom experience. This designation helps place Beloit students in valuable, real-world work experiences that build skills, confidence, and direction.
  • International Programs: Beloit is an international institution, with many international students and students who study abroad. Gifts to this designation are applied to developing interdisciplinary seminars dealing with global issues, which will allow Beloit students to retain their financial aid awards while studying abroad.
