Our resources are available to students from the day they are admitted throughout their entire careers. Indeed, we have the privilege of counseling students and alumni from all over the world!

MISSION STATEMENT
To empower Beloit College students and alumni to develop skills and knowledge for successful lifelong career development, while addressing their diverse interests and backgrounds, and promoting experiential learning.

Overall Goals

To accomplish our mission, we seek to assist students and alumni with:

Engaging in self-assessment
Obtaining occupational information
Formulating personally meaningful career plans through effective decision-making
Understanding the value of experiential learning in relation to career and academic plans
Exploring a full range of opportunities including externships, internships, employment, service work and graduate/continuing education
Presenting themselves effectively as candidates for these opportunities

In addition, we seek to facilitate collaboration among offices, departments, colleges and community partners to raise awareness about the importance and role of students' career development.

Get registered with FACS beginning your very first year on campus. Registration simply means registering on My TurtleSearch on our website. Why?

It will provide you with quick and easy access to all of our electronic intership/job postings sent to our office by employers.
You will be able to quickly apply for those opportunities by just a click of a button by uploading your resume on the site.
You can choose to participate in our Resume Referral Program. If you opt for this service we will forward your resume to employers who inquire and have opportunities that match your interests.

REGISTER YOUR INTERNSHIP
For any student who will be completing an internship whether it be during the Fall, Spring, or Summer terms, consider registering the experience with the College through FACS. This can be initiated through a quick meeting with one of our counselors. Why register your internship? By registering the experience ahead of time with FACS, you will have access to all kinds of additional support services AND you'll have the experience officially noted on your transcript. We've pulled together the best ideas for getting the most out of your Beloit experience including personal, academic, and career advice all organized by year. We hope that it will help you to learn more about yourself, the campus, career options, and what you'll need to do now to assure success after graduation.

10	To help you explore majors and career options including through access to alumni and other professional in the Beloit Career Network.
9	To connect with the larger Beloit community off campus. We have partnered with many local businesses and non-profit organizations for job shadowing and part-time work, internships and volunteering. This is also your chance to learn how to "get established" in a new city. After all, you are likely going to be relocating repeatedly throughout your life; you might as well get a leg up now!
8	To find a part-time job off campus so you can earn some cash and pay for that phone bill!
7	To meet the top expectation of employers and graduate schools everywhere: Getting relevant work experience. Our staff can assist you in locating internships, field terms, and other similar experiences all around the world. The truth is, employers demand proof of your abilities beyond your GPA, major, minor, and academic experiences. You must demonstrate not only that you've learned it, but that you can apply it outside the classroom.
6	To access hundreds of electronic job/internship postings, upload your resume into our on-line database, and participate in on-campus interviews. Each term, employers visit campus to interview Beloit students for a variety of entry-level jobs from business to the Peace Corps.
5	To find out about upcoming workshops and career fairs, both on campus and off. Some will connect you with internships, some with entry-level jobs, and others with alumni who can help you to explore careers.
4	To help you polish your resumes and cover letters and learn how to customize them for positions for which you're applying. When it comes to competing with all those other college students out there, this is a must do!
3	To sharpen your interviewing skills. Call us to schedule a practice, or "mock" interview to sail past your competition. We'll even videotape it for you so you can see those all important non-verbal behaviors that tend to appear when we get nervous. Better now than in the real thing!
2	To get help prepare for, apply to, and finance graduate school.
