Tools for Advising
In
addition to the "What Can I Do With A Major In....?" worksheets
which you can now download for your specific discipline from our site (see
left), you also have access to a number of other tools here in FACS:
-
We can provide you with the most recent data on job outlook and salary for most disciplines based on national averages for you to share with your students.
-
Similarly, we can pull data from our own alumni surveys to give you specifics on where your department's graduates are working, average salary, graduate schools they're attending etc. (Note: individual names are kept confidential.)
-
On-line versions of all of our Guides (resume writing, job and internship search, graduate school applications, etc.) available on the Student section of our site under "FACS Guides & Handouts." Feel free to reproduce these Guides for use in your classroom.
-
We have books, articles, etc. available for faculty loan on how to incorporate experiential or service learning into your curriculum. In addition, we have many contacts in the local community for this purpose and are happy to share them with you.
