POSTINGS & RESUME REFERRAL

My TurtleSearch
My TurtleSearch is Beloit College's customized online database for job, internship and fellowship position postings, our student registration and resume referral system, and much more. Employers and community partners wishing to post opportunities online with us to advertise them to our students and alumni for FREE should go here! The system makes position postings available to Beloit College students and alumni 24/7. Employers and community partners may post local, national and international opportunities at no charge by sending them to FACS to add to the system, or may add the postings themselves after completing a brief no-cost registration process with FACS on the My TurtleSearch site. By registering, employer/community partner representatives will be given a username and establish a password for an account, and then be able to add, remove and edit postings with us; search registered students' and alums' resumes (requires authorized access through FACS); and manage recruiting contacts and activities. Click on the link to My TurtleSearch and contact our office to learn more about registering on or using the system.

Positions will be posted until the application deadline date (or 4 weeks if an application deadline is not indicated), unless otherwise requested. Postings will be automatically removed from the student viewing page and stored in our database
once the designated posting end date has passed. The posting can be reactivated at any time upon the organization's request. Organizations are responsible for contacting FACS if a position has been filled prior to the designated posting end date.

Quiet Agent

Make job matching work for you! Go to www.quietagent.com to access this new and innovative job posting and candidate screening system (service donated to Beloit College by Beloit alumnus, John Suffern of Chicago-based Career Advance-ment Network), allows you to post positions and then screen candidates using a comprehensive assessment analysis that Beloit College job seekers complete when registering on the system.

The system matches job seeker profiles, skills, interests and values to employer/recruiter job profile requirements. You may post positions and view candidate qualifications and job match factors for FREE! Unlike classified ads, you don't have to pay unless you find the right candidates that match your needs. Once you have found qualified candidates and are ready to make contacts for further inquiry or interviewing, you may request their contact information and pay only a small fee ($10) per candidate. The proceeds of the system are then donated to benefit CELEB, Beloit College's Center for Entrepreneuership in Liberal Education at Beloit. This tool is a great supplement to Field and Career Services' other free recruiting and job posting options!

ON-CAMPUS RECRUITING
For on-campus recruiting, FACS will work with you to coordinate the event, make set-up arrangements, publicize it, and advise you on the best times to visit to reach the most students. Call FACS to schedule your on-campus recruiting visit. Some ways in which you may conduct on-campus recruiting at Beloit College include:

Information Tables
Set up an information table in a high-traffic area in our student union to have access to a large volume of students.

Information Sessions
This is a great method for giving a presentation about your organization and spending more quality time with students. It is generally a more formal evening presentation in our student union or near the students' common dining room.

Interviews
Make arrangements to interview students here on campus. FACS will work with you to coordinate a schedule and attract qualified students for the position(s) you seek to fill.

PUBLICITY
Our office utilizes a number of methods to inform students of on-campus recruiting events, as well as employment, internship and community service opportunities. FACS may advertise through any one or more of the following means:

  • Distribute publicity materials provided by the employer
  • Design and distribute small flyers on bulletin boards and in the residence halls
  • Design and put up large posters on the FACS sandwich board, and easels in the student union and common student dining room
  • Send email announcements to students, faculty and staff
  • List the event in the Beloit Weekly, Beloit College's weekly campus newsletter
  • List the event on Beloit College's My TurtleSearch site and on our Calendar of Events (both paper and online versions)
