- Help Yourself Program
Beloit College Department of Education and Youth Studies students have an on-campus opportunity to work with Beloit Academy of the Help Yourself Program. The Beloit Academy is an educational enrichment program for fourth- through seventh-graders of the local community. Education students have worked with the Academy as teaching assistants, teachers, workshop coordinators, and with the administrative staff, earning course credit, pay, and honors terms. - The Praxis Series
For PPST information on the web peruse the The Praxis Series site, which is listed on the first page of the Praxis Series Registration Bulletin. In a recent newsletter ETS announced the release of the General Information and Study Tips publication as a free PDF file, located at: http://www.ets.org/Media/Tests/PRAXIS/pdf/01361generalinfo.pdf. This publication includes much useful information about addressing multiple choice items, using the Scoring Guides for constructed response items to study and understand how ones response will be measured, and building a study plan.
- Field and Career Services
The Office of Field and Career Services (FACS) will work with you in exploring, assessing and securing career-related opportunities. FACS provides a combination of counseling, education, and direct service, and welcomes the opportunity to help you in your job search. They are located on the corner of College and Emerson Streets and are open M-F from 8:00 AM – 4:30. Set up a time to meet with one of their counselors by calling 363-2673.
- WEAC/SWEA
The Wisconsin Education Association Council represents the public policy, labor and professional interests of its members, and is a strong voice for its members and for the 800,000 children in Wisconsin public schools. The Student Wisconsin Education Association (Student WEA) exists to provide students in teacher education programs with a comprehensive understanding of the historical and current issues pertaining to public education.
