Faculty Chris Johnson, Dmitri Peskov, and Kate Corby will be presenting their choreography featuring Beloit dancers, alumni, and professionals in The Premiere Chicago Season. Works will be performed in the Ruth Page Center for the Arts in downtown Chicago demonstrating for Chicago audiences the special brand of dance that is created at Beloit College.
Chelonia Auditions - September 7, 2008
Chelonia is Beloit College's student dance company. Dancers in Chelonia perform student choreographed works as well as faculty and guest artist pieces.

at 1 pm in the Sports Center Dance Studio
Dancers should be warmed up and ready to dance by 1pm
Dancers who are cast will be performing in the December Workshop Performance on December 5 and 6, 2008 as well as the Chelonia Dance Concert on February 5-8, 2009

Every December student choreographers offer a free dance concert in the Laura Aldrich Neese Theater. This is a showcase of student choreography from the fall semester.
Chris Walker African Dance Residency - Begins January 19, 2009
Chris will be in residence at Beloit College on January 19 - February 1. He will hold auditions for his choreography on Monday, January 19 at 11am in the sports center dance studio.

The Chelonia Dance Concert is Beloit College's annual mainstage dance performance. It includes student, faculty and guest artist choreography. It is an eclectic blend of dance styles and always has something for everyone!
American College Dance Festival - March 18-22, 2009
We will travel to Minneapolis at the University of Minnesota for the North Central Region Conference.
Every year Beloit dance students and faculty travel to the American College Dance Festival Association's regional conference. Past conferences have been in various cities in Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa. At the conference students and faculty attend classes for 4 days and perform in adjudicated concerts as well as informal performances.
Dances choreographed by Beloit College students and faculty have been repeatedly selected for the gala concert at the end of the conference. In 2004 Get in the Ring choreographed by Beloit senior Allisa-Zee Hartmann '04 was also chosen as an alternate for the national conference. Faculty choreographer Chris Johnson had her pieces, Held/Accountable (2005) and Holding Patterns (2003) selected for the gala and in 2001 Sunken Flight, choreographed by Beloit senior Heather Budd '01, was selected from over 50 works to be performed in the gala performance at the Krannert Center.
