Classics Department Events: Fall 2013

Wednesday, October 30th:

  • 12pm-2pm: Advising Practicum lunch (WAC 202) -- open to all students, come learn about the opportunities afforded by an education in Classics. We will talk study abroad, languages, Eta Sigma Phi, post-graduate prospects and precedents, and on-campus student involvement.
  • 4pm-ish: The second annual Advising Practicum History, Classics, and Comparative Literature Costume Competition! Dress as your favorite (or not-so-favorite) historical (or mytho-historical) character, and a mystery panel of faculty judges will announce prize winners! Of course, snacks and drinks will also be available.

Friday, November 1st:

  • 12:30-1:30: student coffee with Brian Walters (WAC South)
  • 4pm: Walters lecture and reading "Lucan's Walking Dead" (SC 150)

Every Friday this semester:

  • 12:30-1:30: Classics tea! Join us and your fellow fans of Classics for snacks, hot beverages, and good conversations. This event also serves as the unofficial meeting time for Classics Club and Eta Sigma Phi.
