There’s still time to apply to the Beloit College Sustainability Fellows Program if you would like contribute your expertise to a campus- or community-based sustainability project this summer.
The eight-week Sustainability Fellows Program offers internships and applied research experiences for Beloit College students to engage in sustainability-related activities on campus and in the local community.
Fellows receive a stipend of $4,500, enroll in one unit of Environmental Studies 390, and pay summer tuition for this course. (They may contract with the college for room and board; the stipend has been set to cover these costs.)
Sustainability projects for this summer include:
- Beloit College Energy Use
- Beloit College Campus Garden
- Beloit College Help Yourself Program
- Biomass Assessment of Campus Forest
- Chamberlin Springs Restoration Management
- Community Action Gardening Club
- Native Species Plantings on Campus and their Relationship to the History of Midwestern Landscape Architecture
- Nygren Wetland Preserve: Restoration Management
- Welty Environmental Education Center
All current Beloit College students are eligible to apply. For full consideration, please apply by Friday, March 15. Information and application materials are available at https://www.beloit.edu/
