Beloit Memorial High School will host Our History in the Making this Saturday (Feb. 16) at 7 p.m. The evening will be filled with performances of poetry, theatre, song, and dance, featuring renowned community activist and national poet, Muhibb Dyer, as he presents “From Kings to Thugs to Presidents,” described as “an intimate journey of a people’s struggle from early civilization to present time; an intricate look through the eyes, words and sounds of one man’s poetry that captures the essence of several generational stages of hope, triumph and heartbreak.”
The show will also feature performances by The Knightingales Step Team, BMHS Soulful Choir, local poets, Da Fellas Step Team, dancers, a drum line, and a special presentation from the BMHS Theatre Department.
Tickets are $5 per person, and proceeds will go toward the annual Historically Black College and Universities college tour.
