There are just two home women’s soccer games of the season left; Coach Liz Bartley’93 talked to the Terrarium about how the season’s been going, why a recent game was particularly exciting, and the reasons people should come to the last two games. 

Q: How has the women’s soccer season been going?

A: Well! We are 6-6-1 going into Saturday’s game.

Q: What is your team like this year?

A: Great group—we are young, only one senior and one junior. We have a few dual-sport athletes as well as scientists, educators, and anthropologists. Pretty much if you name it, we have it, so they are a diverse group in what they pursue here at Beloit.

Q: Have you had any notable games this year?

A: Our game against Ripon was big. It was a hard-fought 0-0 most of the game. With a little over five minutes left, we scored. Then, with a little over a minute left we scored again. It was pretty exciting for everyone there.

Q: What's not to miss this season?

A: We have two home games left: Saturday (Oct. 13) at 2 p.m. against Monmouth and Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. against North Central.

Q: Why should people come to a women's soccer game if they haven't before?

A: Because you will see a great group of young women come together and work toward a goal−and have fun doing it! Plus, you can get to know the team.
