Beyond the bubble: local housing nonprofit seeks volunteers

June 16, 2014 at 7:43 am

Do you have a few hours to volunteer for an important cause in our city?

Neighborhood Housing Services of Beloit is a local nonprofit that supports tenants and stabilizes neighborhoods by investing in them and by preventing evictions.  (Click here for more about NHS.)

NHS has a yearly golf outing coming up, its major fundraiser of the year.  Right now they're in critical need of a few volunteers to call businesses for donations over the next month.

Would you be interested in spending an hour or two per week over the next several weeks making some calls to local businesses?  The calls would be made from the NHS of Beloit office at 520 W. Grand Ave. during their 9-to-5 business hours.  NHS will provide a brief script and call list.

To volunteer, or for more info, please contact Chip Hart at (608) 289-0165 or chartc21@yahoo.com.
