The 2013 National Design Award-Winning Chicago architectural firm Studio Gang will be the focus of the next installment of the Beloit College Lunchbox Series on Thursday (Nov. 14) at 12:10 p.m. in Moore Lounge of Pearsons Hall. Beloit has hired Studio Gang to convert a nearby decommissioned power plant into a riverside activity and recreation center.
In the approximately 30-minute live-streamed event, MacArthur Fellow and principal Jeanne Gang and her team from Studio Gang will discuss how they approach projects and what attracted them to the Beloit power plant project.
In a discussion moderated by Dean Klawitter, Gang and her team will be introduced, discuss how they want to engage with the Beloit College community, and present early thoughts about the potential challenges and opportunities this project presents. The event will also feature a Q & A, so Beloiters on campus should stop by Moore Lounge with their questions.
