July 15, 2013 at 1:39 am

Jen Zucker, a sophomore pitcher for the Beloit College Softball team from Glenview, Ill., has earned Honorable Mention honors on the 2013 Jewish Sports Review All-American Softball team.  The publication announced the team last week.

Zucker, who is on her way to Israel for the 2013 Maccabiah Games as a member of the USA softball team, set a new standard for Buccaneer pitchers with her 167 strikeouts on the season, which led the Conference and ranked 22nd in NCAA Division III. Zucker also led the MWC in innings pitched and was second in appearances. She pitched just the fourth no-hitter in Beloit softball history on April 14 against Grinnell College at the MWC Classic, an 8-0 victory.

The USA team begins play in the Maccabiah Games on July 21 when they take on Canada. They play Israel on the 22nd.
