In the Stacks: A poem for your pocket (plus, 50 books of poetry to give away)

April 15, 2013 at 9:42 pm

April is National Poetry Month, and to celebrate, staff at the Morse Library have something up their sleeves—or, rather, pockets.

All week long, the library’s craft table will have copies of poems, along with materials for making postcards and bookmarks.

On Wednesday, though, poemophiles will really get their due, as the library will be handing out 50 books of poetry to the first 50 students to stop by with a printed poem to be added to the pot for Thursday’s event.

Thursday (April 18) is national Poem in Your Pocket Day, a day for poetry lovers to carry a poem on their person and share it with others throughout the day (hence Wednesday’s printed-poem donation drive). If you’re in need of a poem to share, stop by the library and pick one up.
