The deadline is approaching for the English Department’s annual student writing contests. Open to all currently enrolled Beloit College students, the following contests are now accepting manuscripts:

• Lois Wilson Mackey’45 Prize for Creative Writing
• White-Howells English Prize
• Beloit Poetry Journal/Academy of American Poets Award
• Nick Adams Short Story Prize
• Marion and David Stocking Prize
• Margaret W. Baker Prize Scholarship
• Mary F. Hodge Prize

Deadline for entry is noon on Friday, Feb. 1; Entries should be given to Kris Gonstead in WAC 205 A or submitted via campus mail, box 241.
